Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimovic opened the gathering and welcomed over a hundred of the biggest producers and exporters of grains and oil seeds emphasizing that the state recognizes and supports the results that the grain and oil seed traders and exporters accomplish, and that the states job is to meet with the highest officials in order to open up new markets and as well to provide infrastructure improvement. This, among other, is related to the improvement of river transport, because the river transport is much cheaper than road transport. Minister Nedimovic accentuated that he will continue the realization of international projects that the Ministry of Agriculture realizes with the FAO and the EBRD, as well as cooperation with the Association Serbia Grains.
According to the director of the Association Serbia Grains Vukosav Sakovic - Working with UN FAO and EBRD in these two years, we were trying to further improve the market environment in order to make the export results even better. We have opened many other important topics for us such as - opening new markets for Serbian grains (China, Egypt, Indonesia), storage of wheat by quality groups, making records of complete warehouse space in Serbia and the settling of Danube waterway.
